EBRD Annual Meeting 2005 Side-event: Focus on the agribusiness sector of Serbia
At the occasion of EBRD's 2005 Annual Meeting, held in Belgrade on 22-23 May 2005, EastAgri organised a side-event on agricultural/agribusines investment in Serbia. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia, and organised in cooperation with FAO and the EBRD Agribusiness team.
The event took place on 22 May 2005. It was designed as a direct follow up to one of the animated round table discussions of Eastagri's 2005 Annual Meeting. The purpose of the meeting was twofold: (i) to present the priorities of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture and (ii) get the agribusiness communities acquainted with the financial options proposed by the International Financial Institutions.
Representatives from banks, agri-processing and food retail companies in the country were present at the event. Short presentations and discussions were made by the Ministry, FAO, EBRD, and the World Bank, followed by a cocktail party hosted by the Ministry.
