Releasing the potential of Russian agriculture

The EBRD has initiated short-term responses to the food crisis by bringing together public and private sector at various conferences.
The EBRD, with the support of the FAO and the Russian Grain Union brought together key players at a Moscow conference to debate how Russia’s agricultural potential can be unlocked. The conference which took place on 21 October 2008 represented a great opportunity for representatives from the private and public agribusiness sector to identify ways to increase competitiveness in the agribusiness sector.
EBRD President Thomas Mirow spoke at the conference, which was organised by the EBRD in cooperation with FAO, the Russian Grain Union and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
