A group of representatives from Montenegro visited Italy to see how mountain areas and natural parks can be managed and developed through farming and off-farming activities. The tour, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and CEI (Central European Initiative), took place on 7 to 16 June 2010. They visited most significant Italian mountains (Gran Sasso, South Tyrol, Aosta Valley) and their natural parks. Meetings with local authorities as well as field visits provided examples of good practices for income generating activities and sustainable environmental policies in agrofood, forestry, animal husbandry and tourism sectors.
