Geographical Indications in Croatia, Zagreb, April 2011
Experts gathered on 6 April 2011 in Zagreb at the occasion of a national conference on the importance of geographical indications (GI) hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Republic of Croatia (MoA), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The aim of the Conference was to present experiences from other countries in the administration of the geographical indications registration system and initiate a discussion on the roles and competences of institutions in the registration procedure of geographical indications. The session was then followed by a two-day training with the aim to strengthen the capacity of the GI Commission, the MoA and other institutions involved in the development and protection of GIs in Croatia.
